We understand not everyone is able to take a dog into their care and find a new home for it. This page lists a number of different ways you can help us to continue saving German Shepherds from death row and finding new homes for them.
Due to the sheer number of dogs in pounds, we unfortunately do not have the room to take them all in while they await their forever home. Being a foster carer for one or two dogs allows us to save a dog that we may not have normally had the space to save.
The primary responsibilities as a foster carer are to feed, play with and exercise the dog/s in your care, as you would take care of your own. We ask that our foster carers are willing to transport dogs to and from the vet to have their vet work done, and be willing to take photos and provide information to assist with advertising. All initial enquiries are checked by us and then we pass on your contact details to potential homes so that they can contact you directly to make an appointment to meet the dogs.
If you would like more information on foster care, please contact us to discuss further.
We are always in need of a variety of items to keep the dogs healthy and happy while they await their new homes. If you have items you would like to donate, they are always appreciated. Please contact us to make postage or drop off/pick up arrangements. The list below is a list of items that we are always in need of:
Alternatively, if you would like to make a monetary donation to assist with vet work, or to help with purchasing any of the above items our bank account details are:
Cheques can be posted to 45 Goondah Rd, Goondah, NSW, 2582.
When our dogs arrive from the pound, most of them arrive in terrible condition, with filthy coats and matted hair. Whether you have a professional mobile grooming facility, or have a spare hour here and there and wouldn't mind getting wet and furry, we would love your assistance to help keep the dogs in a clean and tidy condition while they await their new homes.
A great photo makes all the difference when advertising the dogs. We do what we can, but our skills certainly aren't in photography. If you are handy with the camera, and would like some (not so cooperative) models, we would love your help.
All of our dogs are kept in kennels and runs on our property. They therefore need to get out and be exercised as often as possible. If you have a few hours to spare here and there, would like to take a dog for a walk, or throw the ball for it, please get in touch.
Most of our dogs come from pounds anywhere up to 5 hours away from us. Once a dog has completed it's time in the pound, it needs to be collected very quickly, and transported to us. If you are able to offer transport between any locations from Newcastle, Sydney, Canberra and Wagga it is always appreciated.
